Ivorian National Team and Galatasaray star, Didier Drogba, arrived to Doha on Tuesday to undergo medical check-ups at Aspetar, the leading orthopedic and sports medicine hospital. He was welcomed by Dr. Khalifa Jeham al Kuwari, the General Manager of Aspetar. The ex-Chelsea striker will be subjected to extensive medical tests by experts at Aspetar. Commenting on the visit, Dr. al Kuwari said:

“Aspetar is committed to help athletes reach their full potential, and that’s why we welcome sport stars, and Didier Drogba is unquestionably one of these stars who trusts the capabilities of Aspetar”.

Drogba’s visit is in line with an agreement signed at the beginning of this year and stipulating that Aspetar shall provide medical support to the Ivorian Football Team prior and during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. It’s to be noted that several Ivorian players are being treated currently at Aspetar in preparation for the World Cup 2014. These include Suleyman Bamba and Lacena Traore. Drogba is considered to be one of the most famed footballers, who started his professional career at the French club of Guingamp, before moving later to Marseille and Chelsea
