Dean is a Sports Management Professional with over 30 years’ experience in international sport. His background in sport includes: 

  • an international level track athlete (800 meters);
  • sports physiotherapist to multiple sporting events and teams including 3 Olympic Games (1996 and 2000 with Australian Athletics and 2004 with British Athletics);
  • First team physiotherapist at Chelsea and Tottenham Football Clubs in the English Premiership;
  • Clinical and operational leadership roles at the English Institute of Sport;
  • Director of the National Sports Medicine Program in Qatar for 7 years during its establishment,; and
  • Strategic Leaderships roles at the Australian Institutes of Sport within high-performance sport.

Dean has an under-graduate in Physiotherapy, and MBA (with Distinction), Executive Masters in Sports and Organisational management (MEMO)S and a Graduate Diploma in Sports Law.  He is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has served on several Boards in Qatar and Australian (both Sporting and Educational)

Dean is now back in Qatar to support the development of the Office of International Medical Affairs.  He is passionate about elite sport and the power it has to provide societal benefits and facilitate social change.
