An award-winning scientist, coach & educator, Prof. Fullagar aims to deliver positive health & performance outcomes for athletes of all levels, as well as occupational personnel (firefighters, military, first responders), through knowledge translation & answering questions which are industry-relevant and end-user centric. His research is focused on evidence-based methods to improve performance & reduce injury, specifically, furthering our understanding of the relationship between fatigue, recovery (e.g. sleep), injury, work demands & training load.
Prior to joining Aspetar, he was a Professor and Director of Postgraudate Studies at Reykjavik University Iceland (2023-25), and a Senior Lecturer with the University of Technology Sydney (2018-2023). With >15 years of experience, he has also previusly worked as a sport scientist & coach with elite athletes in Europe, Asia, North America, & Australia, across professional sporting (NFL, NCAA), elite football (FIFA) & Olympic settings.
