In October 2009, Aspetar and the University of Queensland signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which has paved the way for an agreement fostering cooperation in the fields of research, publications and knowledge-sharing through student exchange programmes, as well as collaborations in research initiatives across sports medicine disciplines.
