Sports Medicine Physician

Dr. Omar Alsayrafi is one of the first generation of Qatari sports medicine doctors. He started his relationship with sports early in life when he was a junior football player at Al-Sadd Club, continuing until the age of eighteen. At that point, he made the difficult decision to discontinue his journey with football and join medical school. However, his passion for sports brought him back to the field, this time through the door of sports medicine.

He completed his sports medicine specialization training at the University of Belgrade and holds a diploma in sports medicine from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). He is also certified in drugs in sports from the same organization. Dr. Omar is a proud product of Aspetar, where he gained his clinical skills and knowledge in various sports medicine areas, from athlete screening to clinical research, and now clinical practice.

He is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports psychology and has a special interest in ankle and knee injuries. He has participated in the medical coverage of many sports events, including world championships in various sports, and was honored to be a venue medical manager at one of the FIFA World Cup stadium
