Dr. Maria Concepcion is a sports medicine specialist with expertise in upper limb injuries, particularly the elbow, wrist, and hand, and a special interest in strength sports.
After qualifying from the University of Extremadura, Spain in 2001 with a degree in Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Maria completed her Sports Medicine Specialty at Complutense University of Madrid in 2007, and then a Master degree in Direction and Health Management in 2021.
With over 17 years of experience, Dr. Maria has worked with elite and recreational athletes in a number of settings: as the doctor at Atlético de Madrid FC Academy for 4 years; through working at two FIFA accredited sports centres, CEMTRO clinic in Madrid, Spain and Aspetar in Qatar; and as a sporting events doctor for various world championships across a range of sports.
