Consultant Radiologist

Dr. Paulo Helito is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Aspetar, specializing in diagnostic imaging and musculoskeletal (MSK) interventional radiology. He has extensive expertise in advanced imaging techniques for diagnosing ligament, cartilage, and soft tissue injuries. In addition to diagnostic imaging, Dr. Helito has significant experience in image-guided musculoskeletal procedures.

Before joining Aspetar, Dr. Helito served as the Chief of MSK Radiology at the Instituto de Ortopedia e Traumatologia – Hospital das Clínicas, São Paulo, one of Brazil’s leading orthopedic centers and part of the University of São Paulo (USP). He also held a leadership position at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, where he played a key role in MSK imaging, research, and innovation.

Dr. Helito’s research has significantly impacted musculoskeletal imaging, with influential studies on MRI evaluation of knee ligaments, biomechanics of the anterolateral ligament (ALL), and imaging correlations with surgical findings. His work is widely recognized in peer-reviewed journals and contributes to advancements in diagnostic and interventional MSK radiology.

As an active member of the International Skeletal Society (ISS) and other professional organizations, Dr. Helito is committed to advancing MSK imaging through research, education, and collaboration.
