Doha, Qatar (February 18, 2015) – AC Milan young striker Hachim Mastour underwent successful surgery on his right knee on Friday morning at Aspetar, Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha following an injury sustained while playing for Serie A club AC Milan.
Dr Rodolfo Tavana, AC Milan football team chief physician, after consulting with Dr Marc Mertens, Aspetar’s vising surgeon has elected Aspetar as the preferred destinations to treat his talented player. Aspetar reported that the player underwent successful “arthroscopy of his knee” surgery conducted at Aspetar’s state-of-the-art facility hoping to make a quick return to the field and join his AC Milan teammates at the Serie A.
Upon his arrival to Aspetar, Dr Rodolfo Said,
“After working for 30 years in the sports field, I have never seen a hospital that is multidisciplinary dedicated to Sports Medicine like this. I can say that it is impressive how the player is truly at the centre of attention in Aspetar in a top level facility”.
After receiving treatment at Aspetar, Mastour felt so confortable and simply stated about the hospital that: “it’s like being at home”.
Born in Reggio Emilia to Moroccan parents, Mastour joined Milan from AC Reggiana in July 2012, aged 14. In 2013/14, despite being just 15, he played three games with the Milan Primavera (or Under-19) side, coached at the time by current senior boss Inzaghi. In 2014, when he turned 16, he signed a first professional contract, committing to the Rossoneri until 2017.
