Aspetar, Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, will organise the Aspetar Orthopaedic Masterclass: “Live Surgery and Multidisciplinary Insights” on 19 September 2026 at the Aspetar Auditorium and will also be available online.

The full-day accredited masterclass will bring together orthopaedic surgeons, physicians and healthcare professionals for advanced surgical education and multidisciplinary knowledge exchange.

The masterclass will feature renowned experts from Aspetar, including Dr Khalid Al Khelaifi, Dr Emmanuel Papakostas, Dr Gazi Huri and Dr Bruno Olory, alongside Aspetar’s orthopaedic fellows and rehabilitation specialists.

Through expert lectures, live surgical demonstrations, case presentations and interactive discussions, the faculty will explore the latest developments in sports surgery, rehabilitation pathways and return-to-play strategies, equipping participants with practical knowledge and enhanced skills in preoperative assessment, clinical decision-making, operative and postoperative care, and rehabilitation.

The programme will address common and complex sports-related conditions of the knee, shoulder, ankle, including meniscus injuries, multiligament knee reconstruction, shoulder and ankle instability. It will also emphasise collaboration among surgeons, physiotherapists and other specialists to optimise patient outcomes.

The Masterclass is expected to attract more than 140 healthcare and sports medicine professionals from Qatar and around the world, offering a unique platform for knowledge exchange and live surgeries learning. The programme will feature live orthopaedic surgeries, expert case discussions, and interactive Q&A sessions, with registration still open for both in-person and online participation.

The Practical sessions of the masterclass will be held in the auditorium live streaming from the unique Aspetar Sports Surgery Training Centre, a dedicated environment where surgeons can exchange expertise and develop their technical skills. Its facilities support cadaveric workshops, surgical skills training, arthroscopic practice, live surgery simulations and anatomical education.
