Aspetar celebrates the successful partnership of five major organisations during the 24th men’s handball world championship

Doha 17 March 2015: Aspetar one of the world’s leading sport medicine hospital celebrated the historic sporting achievement of Qatar during the Final of The 24th Men’s Handball World Championships in Doha by hosting a medical team reception recently at Torch Hall. Aspetar together with their partners provided internationally renowned services to the world’s leading athletes for the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship. More than 300 medical team members ensured the Medical Coverage of the tournament. Throughout the 24th Men’s Handball World Championships, Aspetar collaborated with many staff from different Qatar major organisations such HMC, QRC, SCH, coming together to provide medical support to athletes, VIPs, officials, workforce, media and security forces. Addressed to the attendances Dr Nebojsa Popovic Aspetar acting chief Medical officer mentioned in his welcome message that the feedbacks on the service delivery have been fantastic. The spirit of partnership and collaboration amongst our organisations was unparalleled.

"This celebration came in recognition of the medical staff in various specialties for the efforts and contribution to the success of the tournament, we appreciate the large contribution and efforts of all the staff by working as one team, I can say that we are proud of you and your dedication” added Dr Popovic.

Commenting on the excellent medical coverage co-offered at the Handball World Championships, Mr. Saleh bin Ali Al-Mohannadi, QRC Secretary-General, said: “QRC is delighted to be part of this wonderful experience at the recent World Championship. There was a great spirit of teamwork from all of us. Again, Aspetar, HMC, SCH, ISF, and QRC have proved that, together, we can accomplish amazing things that add to our history”.
