25/10/2011 12:00 AM (Doha, 25 October 2011) Aspetar Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital (Aspetar) honoured its employee, Abdul Aziz Sadoun Al Kuwari after the rally-car driver recently won a local championship, during a felicitation ceremony last week. Al Kuwari’s impressive win came at the 6th Round of Qatar Rally Championship, where he beat a strong contingent of local and regional rally drivers and in the process pocketing the championship. The Aspetar celebration party for Al Kuwari saw the award-winning driver express his deep gratitude to the entire Aspetar management. “I found great encouragement by the all Aspetar staff for the championship. I received daily messages of encouragement and a large number of Aspetar staff even came to support me during the entire last stage of the competition. It was a pleasant surprise. This is what gave me more trust and made me believe that I can indeed shoulder the responsibility of carrying this trust,” said Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari. “At the end, I am glad that I had Aspetar’s backing and I dedicate my success to the organization,” he added. Aspetar CEO, Dr Khalifa Al Kuwari honoured the champion with a certificate of appreciation and wished him many more successes in the days and weeks ahead. “Abdul Aziz is a true model of determination and persistence. We are absolutely glad that he is part of the family at Aspetar, and wish him further glory in future,” Dr Khalifa Al Kuwari said. Aspetar is likely to sponsor Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari’s 2012 campaign in the Middle East Rally Championship. Aspetar is also where the champion driver is expected to undergo a rehabilitation and fitness programme before his participation in the Middle East’s most prestigious rally event, and which is considered a starting point for drivers looking to be part of the larger World Championship Rally. Rallying runs in Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari’s bloodline, as he comes from a long line of passionate rally drivers including – most recently – his own father, a rally champion. In addition to the latest win, Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari has won the Qatar International Rally in 2003 as well as several other contests. -Ends-
