Aspetar has announced it will be the official medical service provider for the upcoming Qatar Total Open 2014. This prestigious tournament, which is set to headline some of the top players on the WTA Tour, kicked off this week.
Aspetar, through its pioneering National Sports Medicine Programme (NSMP), will provide a range of comprehensive services to the annual tennis tournament. The NSMP works in close partnership with sports clubs, federations and the Qatar Olympic Committee to deliver world-class sports medicine in support of athletes at major sporting events around Qatar.
Dr Khalifa Al Kuwari, Director General of Aspetar, commented on the partnership,

This collaboration demonstrates Aspetar’s dedication to fulfilling its overarching mission of assisting athletes in reaching their maximum potential”. The Qatar Total Open 2014 will see some of the world’s greatest female tennis players arrive in Doha to battle it out.
Aspetar regularly lends its world-class medical knowledge and facilities to elite athletes and events. In the last two months it has served as the medical provider to an array of top international sports clubs that visited Aspire Zone for winter camps. Teams included Paris Saint-Germain FC, FC Bayern Munich, FC Shalk 04, the Great Britain Archery team, and FC Red Bull Salzburg.
