partial knee arthroplasty

21/06/2023 01:16 PM

The Aspetar Department of Surgery has introduced a new surgical procedure for patients with knee pathology. Patients suffering from large cartilage defects or osteoarthritis in one compartment of the knee, now have the option of partial knee arthroplasty at Aspetar. Minimally invasive techniques, smaller incisions, and innovative implants are some of the advantages of partial knee arthroplasty. In patients who are candidates for the procedure, partial knee replacements have been shown to significantly decrease pain and improve function. They also spend less time in the hospital and return to normal activities sooner than total knee replacement patients. This surgical procedure is added to the current full portfolio of biologic joint preservation and restoration that is already implemented by our surgical department in the hospital's state-of-the-art facilities and with the full support of the relevant healthcare providers.
