On 5^th October 2019 a high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Spain paid a special visit to Aspetar, Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar. Headed by Maria José Rinda, President of the High Council for Sport, the delegation also included Raúl Chabadu, President of the Spanish Athletics Federation, and Beilin Alvaro Hernández, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Qatar. The group was welcomed by Aspetar officials, including the Chief Medical Officer of the World Athletics Championships currently being held in Doha.

During the visit, Minister Rinda remarked on how important the visit is for Spain, and expressed her impressions of Aspetar:

I think that Aspetar and its people are a wonderful masterpiece composed of all the best international experts, and it is created to serve athletes who want to reach their peak." She added: "It has truly great facilities and outstanding services.
