Doha, Qatar: 2nd February, 2025 - Aspetar, Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, has officially partnered with the ninth UEFA Medical Conference, scheduled to take place in Lugano, Switzerland, from February 4 to 6, 2025.

This strategic partnership underscores Aspetar’s global reputation and excellence as a leading reference center in sports medicine. It builds on a series of successful collaborations with prestigious international sports organisations, including the Asian Football Confederation, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), and the International Olympic Committee.

Mr. Khalid Ali Al-Mawlawi, Acting Director General of Aspetar, commented:

The UEFA Medical Conference is a pivotal event in the professional football calendar, bringing together top-tier experts and providing an exceptional platform for the exchange of knowledge and expertise. This event marks a significant milestone for Aspetar, enabling us to share our extensive experience and insights with our European counterparts, thereby advancing our global leadership in sports medicine. This collaboration aligns with our continuous efforts to foster scientific research, particularly in sports medicine, injury prevention, and athlete performance enhancement, further solidifying Qatar’s international standing as a benchmark in sports medicine.

This partnership continues the fruitful cooperation between Aspetar and UEFA medical experts, which began in 2019 when Aspetar hosted the first joint workshop for team doctors from the Asian and European Champions Leagues. The workshop featured leading medical experts from European clubs and high-ranking officials from FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

Aspetar’s involvement reflects its unwavering commitment to advancing sports medicine in football and other sports globally, ultimately benefiting athlete care and performance.

The upcoming conference is expected to attract over 550 doctors and therapists from national teams and UEFA Champions League clubs, along with approximately 700 other experts in the field.

The ninth UEFA Medical Conference, held in collaboration with the European Club Association (ECA), will focus on the latest advancements in sports medicine for women’s football, in alignment with the theme of the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championship.
