Martina Jakob Emeršič is a dedicated physiotherapist with over a decade of experience in sports medicine and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. She holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and has played an active role in assisting Aspetar Leaders to achieve the Diamond level status for the second consecutive term in the Accreditation Canada.
Martina began her career as a professional beach volleyball player, later channeling her passion for sport into the field of rehabilitation. She initially worked with athletes in Slovenia, gaining valuable experience in the Sports Medicine Department before joining Aspetar, where she has spent the past 10 years further developing her expertise in athletic rehabilitation.
Her clinical focus is on knee injuries, with a special interest in cartilage repair and recovery. Martina’s approach is shaped not only by evidence-based clinical practice but also by her personal experience as a high-performance athlete. Competing internationally has given her a deep understanding of elite sport's physical and psychological demands and the need for individualized rehabilitation strategies.
At the World Rehabilitation Conference, Martina will present on Personalized Rehab Strategies for Lasting Recovery, emphasizing patient-specific protocols to optimize functional outcomes and support safe return to sport.
