It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend the Aspetar Bone Stress Symposium on the 5th October, 2024.

This international symposium aims to address medical aspects of bone stress management. The faculty of world experts will talk about bone stress injury (BSI) physiopathology, highlighting Aspetar’s multidisciplinary approach to an athlete with a suspected BSI. Attendees will have a chance to learn about red flags BSI surgery – Adjunts treatment and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs); in addition to other topics and logistics related to BSI. During interactive sessions participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with the experts, ask questions, and share experiences of a BSI and treatments with teams.

Overall Learning Objectives:

On completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Analyse current scientific literature on Epidemiology and Pathogenesis.
  2. Examine the multiple risk factors, identify developing risk factors and modification strategies.
  3. Appraise the role of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs) in Bone Stress Injuries.
  4. Evaluate all aspects of Lumbar Bone Stress Injuries clinical management.
  5. Assess current evidence-based Bone Stress Injuries Treatment/Management.
  6. Design evidence-based Rehab and RTP programs.
  7. Elaborate on prevention plans.
