Doha, Qatar (September 01 , 2013) – Experts from across the globe are gathering at Aspetar for the 3rd annual Quality and Safety Week on the 15th to 19th September, 2013.
The five-day event presents lectures and workshops focusing on quality management & patient safety, risk management, the safe and effective use of medications in sport, and the management of international sport events. A panel of international experts will be in attendance, including representatives from the International Olympic Committee Medical Commission, Hamad Medical Corporation, the University of Calgary-Qatar, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Aspetar.
Aspetar will showcase some of their flagship initiatives including the pioneering National Sports Medicine Program (NSMP) which is designed to ensure that international standards of medical care are delivered to athletes from all sporting clubs and federations across Qatar.
A number of specialist guest speakers will also discuss a variety of topics, including Dr Luke Feeney, Program Director at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Mr. Mark Stuart, Sports Pharmacy Specialist and Conference Director of British Medical Journal Publishing Group, and John Hartley, manager of the of Quality Management at Aspetar.
