Doha 10-05-2011: A scientific program will be held on Thursday, 12thMay 2011 by the Department of Nursing, ASPETAR Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, tomark International Nursing Day 2011.
This year's theme is “Closing the gap: increasing access and equity.”
The program, which will take place in the ASPETAR Auditorium from 08:00-14:30, will focus on the latest methods in the teaching and practicing of nursing, as well as other relevant topics. The event will also be an opportunity to honor the nurses on their international day.
Georges Nammour, Head of Nursing Department, said: “We want to promote a positive environment of work throughout our organization. The provision of healthcare exists to help patients, clients and athletes, to treat them and manage them and to maintaintheir well-being, here in ASPETAR.
“We celebrate the professional influence nursing has on the delivery of care in our athlete- and family-centered healing environment”.
MrNammour added: “The Department of Nursing is one of the most active departments in terms of paper presentations and of participation in international conferences. Our facilities have recently been modernized to improve the training of professional nurses in Qatar.”
Of ASPETAR’s total staff number of 600, some 97 work in the Nursing Department. Many of the members of the department have international experience and now hold leading nursing positions in various health organizations in Qatar.
