Aspetar conduct course for doctors from the region

Aspetar Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital continued to show leadership in developing surgeons from the region by hosting an intermediate level Shoulder Arthroscopy Course. The course was geared at furthering the skillset of practicing professionals in the field of orthopaedic surgery on the shoulder. A total of 15 surgeons from across the region attended. Over the course of the programme, participants were exposed to the latest techniques in the surgical treatment of the shoulder joint and had the opportunity to engage in extensive hands on work-shops on special artificial shoulder models through simulated involvement in actual operations. Following the successful completion of the skill-enhancement exercise, the participants are expected to continue to develop their skills and then proceed to the advanced level course. The course was undertaken in complete collaboration with Smith & Nephew FZE, with Aspetar providing the scientific content and Smith and Nephew handling the logistics.
