Aspetar, orthopaedic and sports medicine Hospital, marked a significant milestone today with the official opening of its state-of-the-art Assessment and Movement Analysis Laboratory. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed higher management.

Named the "Riadh Assessment and Movement Analysis Laboratory" in honor of Mr. Riadh Miladi, a visionary who played a pivotal role in establishing Qatar's first sports medicine unit in 1990 and the nation's inaugural sports medicine center in 1993. In 2002, Mr. Miladi was instrumental in the founding of Aspetar, serving on the advisory committee.

Strategically located within Aspetar's Rehabilitation Department, the Riadh Assessment and Movement Analysis Laboratory stands at the forefront of cutting-edge biomechanical assessments and analyses tailored for sports-related injuries. Having commenced its soft opening in January 2022, this facility has swiftly emerged as one of the most advanced assessment centers globally, boasting capabilities that enable the precise evaluation of athletes' movements during their sports activities.

The laboratory's primary mission is to enhance the accuracy of diagnosing injuries, ensuring injured athletes gain prompt access to appropriate treatment, rehabilitation, and comprehensive information vital to their recovery journey.

This facility underscores Aspetar's dedication to advancing sports medicine, providing athletes with state-of-the-art resources to optimise performance, prevent injuries, and accelerate recovery.
