Belgian RSC Anderlecht President and Top Management visit ASPIRE Academy and ASPETAR

Monday, May 23, 2011, Doha, Qatar: A very important delegation representing the Belgian famous club of RSC Anderlecht headed by the chairman Mr. Roger Vanden Stock , who has various positions in Belgian football( federation, pro league) as well as many European and international positions within the UEFA and FIFA has visited ASPIRE Academy for Sports Excellence and ASPETAR. The delegation comprised in addition to the chairman, the club’s general secretary and Belgian Federation vice president, Mr. Philippe Collin, Mr. Herman Van Holsbeeck , general manager of Anderlecht, Mr. Bertrand Crasson former RSCA player, Mr. Nenad Petrovic, FIFA agent, and Mr. Beerlandt, CEO Besix, the construction company which made the ASPIRE Torch Tower, Khalifa Stadium in its actual shape, and Doha Airport terminal. The delegation was welcomed at the ASPIRE Academy by Dr. Andreas Bleicher, ASPIRE Executive Director International Affairs, Mr. Wayde Clews, ASPIRE Director Sports, Mr. Ali Salem Afifa, ASPIRE Corporate Services Manager, Mr. Arnold Rijsenburg, ASPIRE senior football Coach himself a former coach with RSCA and ASPIRE Zone protocol and media relation representatives. Dr. Bleicher gave the visitors an overview about the academy and its mission and vision as well as about the Aspire Zone Foundation. Mr. Wayde Clews led the tour in the ASPIRE Dome and outdoor football pitches as well as the national teams club and the news hotel “ Grand Heritage Doha”. The delegation left ASPIRE after that to ASPETAR where they were welcomed by Dr. Khalifa Jeham Al-Kuwari, CEO, Dr. Hakim Chalabi, Director of National Sports Medicine Programme. The delegation received detailed tour in ASPETAR by Dr. Al-Kuwari and Dr. Chalabi, who explained how the different units of this unique hospital work and how its involved in many scientific medical researches, as well as how it becomes a favorite destination for famous sports champions in different sports. The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Khalifa to a lunch break. Dr. Khalifa at the end presented the RSCA chairman with a gift representing a miniature of ASPETAR. The RSCA delegation left ASPETAR to ASPIRE Academy where they exchanged gifts with ASPIRE management representatives, namely Mr. Ali Salem and Dr. Andreas Bleicher. Commenting on the visit Mr. Roger Vanden Stock said:” what we have seen today in ASPIRE Zone ( ASPIRE Academy and ASPETAR) is just amazing! I really congratulate Qatar for these first class sports facilities and the state-of-the- Art sports medicine hospital. It’s really great to be here and visit these unrivalled facilities. It is a wonderful place to visit and with the new hotel and excellent quality of stadiums and the hospital I think Aspire Zone will attract all sports people ”
