21/06/2011 12:00 AM (Doha, June 21st, 2011): The Board of Trustees of the Anti-Doping Laboratory Qatar held its first meeting on Monday 20th June 2011. Its chairman, Dr. Muhammed G. A. Al Maadheed, welcomed all members and explained to them the roles and responsibilities of the Board. The Board then appointed Dr. Muhammad Al Sayrafi as General Manager of the Anti-Doping Lab Qatar. After discussing several issues on the agenda, Dr. Al Sayrafi gave a brief presentation on his plans for ADL and its different departments and sections. The Board members then discussed ADL’s vision and terms of reference as well as its functions. The Chairman stressed the importance of research for ADL and discussed with the rest of the members the strategy for scientific research and the latest developments in ADL’s projects. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Al-Meraikhi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Hamad Al-Mannai, member of the Board of Trustees. The following board members participated through a teleconference: Dr. Saleh Al Konbaz, Dr. Makoto Ueki and Dr. Martial Saugy.
