(Doha,8 November,2011) Blackburn Rovers and Australian international football player Vincenzo Grella is set to return to England having completed 10 days of treatment at Aspetar Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. Grella has suffered from numerous injuries that have kept him off the field for large periods since the 2010 FIFA World Cup. “I suffered a hip flexor injury with the final kick of a training session at Blackburn a few weeks ago,” explained Grella who has 46 times his national team. “I spoke with the Australian team physio Les Gelis and he recommended that I come to Aspetar for treatment.” “Some of my Australian teammates have been here for treatment and they speak very highly of Aspetar. I am really pleased with the quality of the service and treatment here.” “Not only do does Aspetar have top quality equipment but the staff here are excellent.” Grella has had a long history at the top level of football. After leaving his native Australia in 1998 he spent 10 years in Italy playing for four different clubs in Serie A. He moved to Blackburn in 2008 linking up with Australian teammate Brett Emerton. Injury kept Grella out of Australia’s 2011 AFC Asian Cup campaign in Qatar but he still holds out hope of playing again for his country. “I miss playing for my national team. But what is important for me right now is to get fit and play well for my club. Aspetar has helped enormously in helping to me to start to recover from this injury.” -End-
